Paid every two weeks? Most years have 26 paydays, but every 11 years or so a 27th one appears. This calendar lists each payday so you can plan bills and budgets.
Pay period calendar
Enter one payday you know. Most biweekly schedules land on a Friday.
How it works
- Biweekly: every 14 days from the payday you enter. 52 weeks is 26 paydays, but a year is 52 weeks and one or two days, so the extra days add up and roughly every 11 years there are 27.
- Weekly: every 7 days, so 52 or 53 paydays.
- Twice a month: the 15th and the last day of each month, 24 paydays.
- Monthly: the last day of each month, 12 paydays.
Many employers pay on the business day before when payday falls on a weekend or a federal holiday; some pay the next business day. Your pay stub or HR policy says which. Federal holidays here use the observed dates.
Why the 27th paycheck matters
If your salary is split into 26 checks, a 27-payday year can mean slightly smaller checks or one extra check, depending on how your employer handles it. Budgets built on two paychecks a month get a bonus month twice a year with biweekly pay.
